Sarah was born about 1788 in Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, the daughter of William Burleigh and Sarah Lee.[Note 2]

She died on 14 NOV 1857 in Lillingstone Dayrell, Buckinghamshire.

Her husband was William Clarke, whom she married on 22 JAN 1807 in Buckingham, Buckinghamshire. Their twelve known children were Sarah (<1808-1847), William Burleigh (1809-<1809), William (1810-1887), Elias (1811-1870), Henry William (<1812-1837), John Burleigh (<1814-1868), George (<1816-?), Septimus (<1821-1889), Josiah Octavius (<1823-1888), Edward (<1825-1880), Eleanor Burleigh (<1829-1882) and Charles Decimus (<1830-1858).
