Charlotte was born before 9 MAY 1790, the daughter of John Clarke and Mary Hobbs. The place is not known.[Notes 2, 3]

Her husband was William Johnson, whom she married on 14 DEC 1813 in Lillingstone Dayrell, Buckinghamshire. Their seven known children were William (1814->1841), Elias Clark (1815->1841), Mary French (1817->1841), Eliza Charlotte (1819->1841), John Clark (1821-?), Joseph Benjamin (1821->1841) and James (1824->1841).
