Elizabeth was born before 6 SEP 1863 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire, the daughter of Thomas Coles and Hannah or Anna Horwood.[Note 1]

Her husband was Samuel Garner, whom she married in ABT MAY 1887 in Newport Pagnell registration district, Buckinghamshire. Their five known children were Samuel (c1888-?), Lilly Anne (c1890-?), Arthur Enos (c1892-?), Mabel Elizabeth (c1899-?) and Daisy (c1902-?).
