Benjamin was born on 4 FEB 1790 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire, the son of Thomas Brewerton and Sarah Maria Clarke.

He died in 1867 in Greenwich, Kent.

His wife was Maria Bird, who he married in 1818 in Brampton, Northamptonshire. Their three known children were Emma (<1822-?), Maria Ann (<1824-?) and Maria Anne (1832-1919).
