Did you know there was a Brewerton Street in Manchester?
James Edward Brewerton,(father of James) was Builder's General manager and worked for a firm of Builders in Manchester called Smith and Thompson.James said that his father named the street.
The Brewerton's lived next to the builders yard and offices when he was very young and remembers the smell of the wood and watching the craftsmen making all the windows and doors, there was no buying in of ready made items then. It must have been fascinating place for a young boy to grow up in.The family later moved to more salubrious Withington.
His father was Sunday school superintendent of Union Hall in Hulme.
