Elizabeth was born about 1826 in Hughenden, Buckinghamshire, the daughter of unknown parents.

Her husband was Reuben Wharton, whom she married in BEF 1852. The place has not been found. Their two known children were Reuben (c1850-?) and William (c1852-1922).
