Catherine was born about 1848 in Hillesden, Buckinghamshire, the daughter of Joseph Cadd but her mother is unknown.[Note 2]

Her husband was William Jerrams, whom she married in ABT MAY 1868 in Buckingham registration district, Buckinghamshire. Their six known children were William (c1870-?), Henry (c1873-?), George (c1875-?), Frederick (c1876-?), James Thomas (c1879-?) and Joseph Walter (c1887-?).
