Thomas was born about 1830 in Padbury, Buckinghamshire, the son of unknown parents.
His wife was Anne Butcher, whom he married in ABT NOV 1849 in Buckingham registration district, Buckinghamshire. Their only known child was William Henry (c1880-?).
