William was born before 6 AUG 1815 in Slapton, Northamptonshire, the son of William Butcher and Clara Bradford.[Note 2]

He died on 3 JUN 1890. The place is not known.[Note 3]

He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Rachel Lucas, who he married on 27 NOV 1837 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire. Their eight known children were Sarah Ann (1838-1890), Fanny (1839-?), Jane (1841-1904), Eliza Anne (1844-?), William (<1846-?), Thomas (1849-?), James (<1851-?) and Martin (<1855-?).

His second wife was Elizabeth Clarke, who he married on 07 JUN 1865 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire. They had no known children.
