David was born before 21 DEC 1796 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire, the son of William Allen and Ann Gilder.[Note 1]

He died on 14 NOV 1860 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire.[Notes 2, 3]

He had three marriages/partners. His first wife was Anne Dickens, whom he married on 1 JAN 1818 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire. They had no known children.

His second wife was Frances Barrett, whom he married on 7 MAY 1831 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire. Their only known child was Fanny Barrett (1832-?).

His third wife was [H]Anna un, whom he married in BEF FEB 1838. The place has not been found. Their three known children were William Martin Mawer (c1838-?), Rebecca (c1841-?) and Elizabeth (c1844-<1844).
