William was born about 1784, the son of unknown parents. The place is not known.[Note 2]

His wife was Esther un, whom he married in BEF 1808. The place has not been found. Their seven known children were Thomas (c1808-<1864), Martha Ann (<1810-<1871), William (<1813-?), Ann (<1815-?), Joseph (<1821-?), James (<1824-<1830) and James (1830->1841).
