Personal and Family Information

Elizabeth was born about 1829 in Finmere, Oxfordshire, the daughter of Thomas Barnes but her mother is unknown.[Note 1]

She had two marriages/partners. Her first husband is not known. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was John (<1850->1850).

Her second husband was Benjamin Butcher, whom she married on 15 MAR 1852 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire. Their eleven known children were Rebecca (<1852-?), Lucretia (<1854-1859), Benjamin (<1856-?), Elizabeth Anne (<1858-?), Joseph (1860-?), Hannah Mary (<1862-?), Sarah (<1863-?), Jacob (c1864-?), Emmanuel (c1866-?), George (<1869-?) and Stephen (<1871-?).
