George was born in 1846 in Westbury, Buckinghamshire or Syresham, Northamptonshire, the son of John Alcock and Esther Millon.

His wife was Amelia Perry, who he married on 24 SEP 1872 in prob. Woodford, Northamptonshire. Their six known children were Sarah Ann Ellen (1873-1883), John James (1875-?), George Thomas (1877-1951), Arthur Henry (c1878-1910), Edith Mary (1881-1899) and Frederick William (1885-?).
