William was born before 13 AUG 1771 in Buckinghamshire, the son of John Butcher and Sarah Cocks.[Note 1]

He died on 18 MAR 1846. The place is not known.[Notes 2, 3]

His wife was Clara Bradford, whom he married on 19 NOV 1815 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire. Their six known children were William (<1815-1890), John (<1816-<1889), Jane (<1820-c1896), Margaret (<1821->1841), Richard (<1824-?) and Jonathan (<1828-<1841).
