Edith was born about AUG 1884 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire, the daughter of Thomas Blackwell but her mother is unknown.[Note 1]

Her husband was Edward William Cox, whom she married on 4 DEC 1904 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire. Their three known children were Frederick William (c1906-?), Edith Annie (c1908-?) and Dorothy Luie (c1910-?).
