Selina was born on 10 JUL 1844 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire, the daughter of Daniel Steeden and Anne Wood?.[Note 1]

She had two marriages/partners. Her first husband is not known. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Henry Harrison (c1864-<1865).

Her second husband was Richard Sumner, whom she married in ABT MAY 1885 in Tunbridge registration district, Kent. Their four known children were Alice (c1863-?), Ellen (c1869-?), Flora (c1873-?) and Minnie (c1877-?).
