Ann was born about 1844 in Middleton Cheney, Northamptonshire, the daughter of unknown parents.[Note 1]

Her husband was John Markham, whom she married in ABT 1866 in Middleton Cheney, Northamptonshire. Their four known children were Walter Joseph (c1867->1891), Emily Caroline (c1869-?), Sarah Ann (c1871-?) and Emma Jane (<1877-?).
