Esther was born about 1856 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire, the daughter of Knighton Adams and Ann Key.[Note 1]

Her husband was William King, whom she married in ABT AUG 1890 in Buckingham registration district, Buckinghamshire. Their three known children were Sarah A. (c1891-?), William (c1895-?) and M. A. (c1897-?).
