William was born on 1 JUN 1821 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire, the son of John Pollard and Mary Austen.[Notes 1, 2]

He died on 12 JUN 1877. The place is not known.[Notes 3, 4]

His wife was Elizabeth Durham Miles, whom he married in BEF 1849. The place has not been found. Their thirteen known children were John Miles (<1849-1878), George (1850-1907), Thomas (<1852-?), Mary Anne (<1854-?), Newman (<1854-?), Ebenezer Newman (<1855-1924), Sarah Anne Elizabeth (<1857-1865), Mary (1858-1867), Benjamin (c1860-?), Joseph Frederick (<1862-1937), Martha Ellen (<1863-?), James (<1866-1868) and Hannah (c1869-<1879).
