Andrew was born on 11 DEC 1838 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire, the son of Robert Read and Maria Kingstone.^{[Note 2]}

His wife was Caroline Holton, whom he married on 8 AUG 1859 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire. Their four known children were George (1860-<1862), Sarah Ann (<1862-<1865), James (c1863-1932) and Sarah Ann (<1865->1917).

I wonder what happened to him tho after Caroline died? James was living with his grandmother Maria Kingstone Read in 1871 as boarders. Hmmm, either a flake and he deserted the family *or* he want off elsewhere to work and sent money home? Haven't found him on '71 or '81 censuses though.
