Edmund was born before 25 NOV 1832 in Finmere, Oxfordshire, the son of Thomas Linford and Esther Young.^{[Notes 1, 2]}

He died after 1881. The place is not known.

He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Sarah Key, whom he married on 15 APR 1855 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire. Their four known children were Mary Ann (<1856-?), George (<1857-?), Sarah (<1860-<1864) and Ann (c1860-<1861).

His second wife was Ann Savin, whom he married on 21 OCT 1869 in Finmere, Oxfordshire. Their only known child was Harry Thomas (<1870-?).
