Thomas was born before 1 MAY 1796 in Finmere, Oxfordshire, the son of Nathaniel Linford and Mary Townsend.[Note 1]

He died before 11 SEP 1879 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire.[Notes 2, 3]

His wife was Esther Young, whom he married on 15 OCT 1821 in Leckhampstead, Buckinghamshire. Their seven known children were Eliza (1822-<1823), Esther (<1824-?), George (<1826-<1855), Ann (<1828->1861), John (<1830-<1855), Edmund (<1832->1881) and William (<1835-c1898).
