Albert was born about 1848 in Brill, Buckinghamshire, the son of Thomas W. Roads and Caroline Goddard.

He died in 1899. The place is not known.[Notes 1, 2, 3]

His wife was Matilda Somerset, whom he married in 1871 in Milton Lilbourne, Wiltshire. Their eight known children were Alfred Henry (c1872-?), Agnes Somerset (c1874-1945), Arthur Ernest (c1877->1881), Minnie Gertrude (c1878-1964), Edgar Bertram Somerset (c1880-c1922), Frederick Harold (c1882-?), Edward Herbert (c1886-?) and John Somerset (1888-1949).
