Mary was born about AUG 1842 in Buckingham registration district, Buckinghamshire, the daughter of Edward Sheppard and Mary Ann Everett.[Notes 1, 2]

She died about MAY 1901 in Aston registration district, Warwickshire.[Notes 3, 4]

She had five marriages/partners. Her first husband is not known. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Frederick Heavens (c1874-?).

Her second husband is not known. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Herbert Percy (c1884-?).

Her third husband is not known. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Walter Smith (c1879-?).

Her fourth husband was Robert Walter Branigan, whom she married on 18 JUL 1862 in Shoreditch, Middlesex. Their five known children were Elizabeth Catherine (1864-c1866), Amy Louisa (c1867-c1867), Richard William (1869-?), Robert Walter (1871-c1872) and Thomas Frederick (1872-<1876).

Her fifth husband was Thomas Francis Branigan, whom she married in ABT FEB 1876 in St. George, Hanover Square, London. Their three known children were Amy Louisa (c1867-c1867), Thomas Frederick (1872-<1876) and Thomas Francis (c1876-c1963).
