Florence was born about 1868 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire, the daughter of William Jackson and Elizabeth Mary.[Note 1]

Her husband was William Lester Brown, whom she married in ABT NOV 1889 in Burton registration district, Staffordshire. Their ten known children were Edwin Boden (c1888-?), William (c1891-?), Thomas (c1893-?), Lily (c1897-?), Jack (c1898-?), George (c1900-?), Albert (c1900-?), Ivy (c1902-?), Nelly (c1905-?) and Kate (c1907-?).
